How do You get a new I.d And Erase the Old one? without having to go to court??

How do you Change your identity AND Erase your Old one Without going to Court??|||why would you want ot change who you are unless you ahve commited a crime. you can change your name a hundred times but you will still have the same SS#.

How do you "change your name" and "change your picture" in yahoo news?

When commenting on Yahoo news, there are links to %26quot;change your name%26quot; and %26quot;change your picture%26quot; but when I click on either link, it just takes me to my profile page. There used to be options for using alternate identities (or at least alternate screen names), but it%26#039;s not obvious how to change that anymore.

Does anyone know?

Thanks.

How do you become a spy?? ho do you join an intelligence agency??

What qualifocations do they usually ask for and how hard is it to become a spy...what type of moral..emotional changes would you go thru?? do they change your identity?? D you need a degree in a related field?|||Most of the person%26#039;s that you are calling %26quot;Spies%26quot; are taken from the military, like Marine Special Forces, Navy Seals, etc. There is a remarkable amount of training to go through, but if someone wants to do that sort of work, they can. Oh, by the way, you must be able to kill at will. Keep that in mind. Go to CIA.com or United States Secret Service.com. You might also try US Government.org|||Go on the CIA website for all the details|||Well if you don%26#039;t know, you obviously aren%26#039;t qualified. First you need to know how to spell. Spies are highly educated people and as of now, you would not fit in.|||Most %26quot;spies%26quot; as you choose to put it would never call themselves that. Many are either ex military or ex detectives. You need to know how to snoop around and get information without anyone knowing you%26#039;re looking. Reconnaissance for example. There are many Private Eye companies out there. You just have to know where to look. If you are really serious about this kind of thing, find a police bar in your neighborhood. There are many as cops like to drink after their shifts. Make friends with a few. They%26#039;ll no doubt know where you can get your foot in the door. But as previously said by other Yahoo-ers, not just anyone can get into this field. It%26#039;s probably easier getting a part time job as a surgeon. Good luck though.

Second thought: Usually, they recruit you, you don%26#039;t join them.|||Well if your serious and I mean serious about the intelligence career consider the military (Air Force or Navy the 2 best)...Once in try to get into intelligence it%26#039;ll look real good on your resume..Also learn languages right now they need people fluent in Arabic,Farsi and other Middle Eastern languages and cultures CIA.GOV is the agencies website...Read books about it go to amazon.com and look for an author called Robert Baer he has a few books out that describes the life of a CIA agent.... Good Luck|||If you are interested, log on to the CIA website, or talk to their recruitment division, and they can fill you in. You have start from the very basics, like in any other field, and this may take years of preparation and training.

Can a superficial (and negative) changes make your identity whole?

You could say that I%26#039;ve been going through a quarter-life crisis. In many ways I%26#039;ve been a good girl:

I%26#039;ve always studied hard/got good grades

Represented my family well

Been a good friend

And done what I%26#039;m supposed to do.

I did what I thought I was supposed to do so much that I had no idea what I was about. I still cared about my family, and am still a good friend. but dropped my classes because I cared more about how my teachers reacted than my own work.

anyways, the long and short has been a lot of confusion. but I recently got some tattoos (they were not hasty decisions, I%26#039;ve wanted tattoos for well over 5 years? and specific ones for at least 2).

And while I understand the health complications of this particular factor - I%26#039;ve been letting go of the guilt I have for being a smoker.

And I%26#039;m feeling o.k. - I actually feel like I%26#039;m representing myself for the first time since I can remember. I was just wondering what thoughts YA users had on this.|||Can you say %26quot;overachiever%26quot;? Maybe you%26#039;d have a clear concept of yourself if you stopped overachieving. This is just speculation. I really don%26#039;t know. I need a coffee.

Changing your idetnity?

Okay I%26#039;m working on a new story and I%26#039;m curious about how you would go about changing your identity to hide from someone from your past.|||Change your name legally and move, keep your home phone private, get a block from any numbers you don%26#039;t know and keep a PO box instead of a home mailing address. If this is an issue of personal safety, it might be a good idea to apply for a handgun.

How many generations was your family in the US before your social identity changed to that of American?

Lets say your family came from France, how many generations before you were culturally American instead of French ... i.e., language, dress, manerism, social circles, etc|||my family has been here for tens of thousands of years...forever really ...and we still aren%26#039;t americans. we are older than america.|||Two...

Many people go out of their way to point out I am not American, in innuendoes.

Like constantly asking %26quot;are you Korean/Chinese/Japanese%26quot;... I don%26#039;t mind, because I am not all that proud a person and being American wouldn%26#039;t boost my ego anyway.

Sometimes as a joke I ask them in return, %26quot;are you British/Italian/etc?%26quot;, they catch on and often get bitter at me.

If I ever decided to completely change my birth name and identity how would I go about doing this?

Can you change your name, and how much is it to reconstruct your face?|||Facial surgery generally costs upwards of $30,000 dollars.

Changing your legal name is a lot cheaper. the exact specifics vary depending on your jurisdiction. The worst-case scenario normally involves publishing an announcement in certain %26quot;newspapers of record%26quot;, then swearing before a judge that you are sane and not doing it to escape debts or crimes.

Let us know how it turns out.|||I know some guys who will rearrange your face just for kicks. As for the rest, consult legal counsel.

When a trans gender person changes their name and such do they have to change all their old paperwork ?

I%26#039;ve been curious about this because it almost seems like when you change your name and sex it%26#039;s like changing your identity. For instance if you apply to college ( after you have gotten an operation/ surgery and you are now a male) but your high school diploma/ transcript denotes you as a female with a different name, how does that work. And how would that work like if you%26#039;re applying for a job and then all your college paperwork says you%26#039;re a female and you have a different name.

Would everyone you come in contact to after you%26#039;ve changed realize that you were female b/c of all the paperwork that has to go through?

And I%26#039;m just asking as a general question to even for people who just change their names, like even after you do all the legal paper work and such will people always know your original identity?

I%26#039;m just curious as to how this all of this works. So if anyone can fill in this oblivious person here that%26#039;d be nice. Thanks.|||YES, usually people make the rounds and change all the paperwork they can. Although in the information age it%26#039;s impossible to ever totally get rid of the old name. It will always be hidden away in a database somewhere. However, that information should not be used against anyone.

After the legal name change virtually nobody will ever know I changed my name unless I tell them I did. And even then they will probably just assume I changed my name after a divorce. No, nobody can tell my medical history simply by looking at my paperwork. I even have a new birth certificate. If anyone asks the federal government, my employer or my state all they%26#039;ll find is all my legal documents say FEMALE.

The process this all occurs varies depending on which state you%26#039;re in. You can find links for more information here:

http://www.tsroadmap.com/reality/name-ch鈥?/a>

here:

http://www.tsroadmap.com/reality/drivers鈥?/a>

and here:

Oh and you might be interested to know the State Department recently changed the rules for passports, making it easier for transsexual people to get gender appropriate passports:

http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2010/06鈥?/a>

I hope you see that this is a formal process with many steps. Steps we do not take lightly.

Forgot to add: I went back and updated my high school records. I also got around the applying for a job problem by transitioning on the job. Nothing to worry about because my employer already knows me. And since I love my job I%26#039;m hoping to stay here until I retire (less than 20 years from now).

The system isn%26#039;t perfect, but for day-to-day living it works out fine.|||if you want to legally change your name, every document with your name on it has to be changed. this includes passports, driving licenses, high school or college diploma, etc. everything.|||Most applications for college, work, drivers license, voter registration, etc. have spaces for names that the applicant has been previously known as. The person%26#039;s social security number won%26#039;t change, so there will always be a record of the previous identity--at least that%26#039;s the way i understand it|||Oh yesss.... It%26#039;s out with the old / dead and in with the NEW...!!! All records have to be changed..And in many cases the %26quot;old%26quot; person, moves away to build a new life for themselves as well..

And my advice to anyone who is going through this transition, is for them to KEEP all their past identity papers / records, and do also keep official paper work from all government offices as to your i d change, and of course any paper work regarding this aspect... Dupes of such should also be made, with the originals kept in a very safe ./ secure place - safety deposit box, etc..

LEAVE NOTHING TO CHANCE...!!!!

Keeping Maiden Name After Marriage - How Many Women Have Done it?

How many of you have done it? And how many of you have gotten negative reactins from the in-laws about it?

The way I see it, it changes your identity entirely.

It%26#039;s a mild traumatic change which the patriarchial world has rarely cared to acknowledge... I mean our name is what has identified us since we were babies, and learning to write it in Kindergarten.

To lose it over night is devastating to me at least ( I might consider hyphenating it)

Who sees this the same way?|||I have not done it because I%26#039;m not married, but if I do get married, I%26#039;m keeping my name. I feel exactly the way you do. I know all about my family%26#039;s history and also have an extremely rare name, and I wouldn%26#039;t give it up for anything.

I think your comment about naming and identity is also right on. Naming something gives you a certain power over it - we name the objects in our world; our colonial folk *renamed* lands and rivers and lakes (even though they already had Native American names - or, if they weren%26#039;t named, they simply didn%26#039;t need to be); %26quot;renaming%26quot; a person, calling them something such as a nickname that they don%26#039;t want to be named, demonstrates a desire in the namer to exercise power and ownership over the object, and also demonstrates a lack of respect for the object. There are quite interesting theories on naming that have been written by literary scholars ... arrgh. I don%26#039;t remember who. Julia Kristeva? No. I%26#039;ll try to find you something.

___________

It appears Judith Butler has written an article in the journal _Diacritics_ on naming ... %26quot;Further Reflections on Conversations of Our Time.%26quot; (I see now that it is not on naming per se, but is an e-mail dialogue between herself and another scholar and probably mentions naming.) I%26#039;m not sure if you%26#039;ll have access to it. Here%26#039;s something that discusses naming from a philosophical perspective, but that I don%26#039;t find that interesting: http://www.friesian.com/naming.htm .

You might also check out Hans-Georg Gadamer.

___________

Ah, just joking. Scratch the Gadamer. Try Kenneth Burke%26#039;s _A Grammar of Motives_. One informal reviewer writes, %26quot;Thus, Burke uncovers the intent that I have when I name something that it may be what I have called it%26quot; (http://www.sil.org/~radneyr/humanities/r鈥?/a> ). Try also Burke%26#039;s _Rhetoric of Motives_. The process of naming is complexly related to %26quot;defining.%26quot;|||i guess if that is what you want to do then go ahead. it did not bother me none to change my name maybe a little bc mine was uniqe but long and i went to a long last name to a short one. which is kinda nice faster for written.

what about the kids? will they have to haphen and have to last names also? you had you dads last name so whats wrong with changing it? but do what you want it does not matter to me really its your choice your name.|||I actually did hyphenate my last name when I got married, then I decided what the heck , I took his. Im still me whether I have his last name or not.|||i can understand your point of view

but you might be a little bit insecure about losing your identity

you have to realise your still yourself no matter what you or other people say or call you|||statistics wise i couldn%26#039;t tell you how many women keep there maiden name. though i can tell you that usually women of power, position, or wealth often have their maiden or hyphenated names when they are married. partly because they are already well known by that name and partly because they want to be considered their husbands equal.

Personally i don%26#039;t think it is less patriarchal to keep your maiden name as it is technically your fathers name so really your choosing to be claimed by your father or husband. It is like the whole miss or mrs thing. miss meant you were under the protection of your dad, and mrs meant you were under the protection of your hubby historically. that is why feminists in the 60%26#039;s and 70%26#039;s started useing ms. to claim that they owned themselves. if u really want to show that you are not under anyones thumb consider picking a new last name all together.

if you are simply attached to your maiden name since you have as you said, had it for years than by all means keep it or hypenate it. i personally will take my boyfriends last name it is much nicer than mine, and i think hyphenating would make my name too long and silly sounding. the choice is a personal one, whatever makes u comfortable is what matters.|||I dont see it that way at all.

i think it would be realy cute to have my husbands name

and it wouldnt be traumatic its not like ur name was sue

and it changed to polly anna overnight its just ur last name.

o_o|||I am not married, but when I do I am not going to change my name to his. I love my name and initials. I feel that I have every right to keep my name, ask him to change his name to yours and see what he thinks. I believe the same thing that you do. Your name is part of who you are, he fell in love with you and that is part of you. He should understand if you want to keep your own name.|||I kept my last name. My husband doesn%26#039;t love that I decided to keep it because it is tradition, but he has respected my wish. Besides, how else are you supposed to find those old friends from high school. I jokingly talked about hyphenating because we both knew that our names were long enough separate let alone together. (mine 13 letters his 10) I have a friend though that has hyphenated her last name with her husband%26#039;s and it was a little strange at first but now it seems perfectly normal. Those who are %26quot;famous%26quot; don%26#039;t change their names usually because it is their identity. The only problem I have had is that people don%26#039;t think I am married sometimes. My in-laws have no problem with it, of course they are divorced and re-married. No matter your name you are still you.|||I believe every person has an identity, and the parents keep the child%26#039;s name so as to be able to proudly call them as such. NO ONE has a right to change the name, except the holders themselves. My wife gets strange looks %26amp; questions when someone finds out she hasn%26#039;t changed her name. She proudly says it%26#039;s her identity, and, that my husband was the one insisting on keeping the original name.

It matters to me that she keeps her originality, her proud heritage of her family links, and I wouldn%26#039;t want it to be any different, even for my siblings.|||I kept my name because it%26#039;s my name. I%26#039;m not changing it for anybody. However, I am bothered by the whole %26quot;maiden%26quot; name thing--none of us are maidens, and we all have men%26#039;s names either way. If someone put Mrs. in front of my name, it was strange as it appeared that I was married to my father. So, I have never gone by a title or by anyone else%26#039;s name, just by my first name. My in-laws were furious, but whatever. Even my own parents didn%26#039;t like it. But, like I say, whatever. It%26#039;s my name. I never considered hyphenating it or doing anything else complicated like that. I%26#039;m really glad I had the choice...keeping your own name wouldn%26#039;t have been possible not that long ago. It%26#039;s all about choice.|||I%26#039;m not keeping my maiden name, anyway 鈥?it sucks, so I%26#039;m changing it to my grandmother%26#039;s far cooler maiden name. But if I got married (ain%26#039;t gonna happen), I wouldn%26#039;t change it. What would the point be?|||I understand where you are coming from because I was married later in life than most other people so I identified with my self through my original surname. I didn%26#039;t have the same anti-patriarchal feelings that you expressed. My misgivings were along the lines that most people won%26#039;t recognize or call you by the hyphenated name so what%26#039;s the point?

When I graduated from high school and when many of my girlfriends got married...they kept their last names and hyphenated them. Frankly, it was to thumb their noses at the patriarchal custom of loosing last names. Since then, there have been a few divorces and remarriages and not one hyphenated the second time around.

My sister hyphenated her name...but nine times out of ten people don%26#039;t acknowledge both names. They say one or the other... rarely both. I%26#039;ve know women for years to find out they had hyphenated names and I never knew.

My solution was to keep my last name as a middle name. I have a first name, two middle names and a last name -- no hyphen...no confusion.

I kept my name and I don%26#039;t have the controversy or confusion that goes along with it.

I was able to adopt the surname of the man I loved, share the surname with our children and I still keep the name of the people I%26#039;ve loved the longest...and I acknowledge my identity every time I sign my name.

I hope this helps.

Best Wishes for Your Future Together -- Hyphenated or Not!

Wait a minute??? Keep name for professional reasons...THAT puts a whole new perspective on it.

Keep your professional name by all means. Don%26#039;t give it up! I was speaking on my behalf. Let%26#039;s hear from the Professional Women whose career relies on their name...what have they done?

I know my dentist kept her maiden name professionally; I know a lawyer who kept her name professionally, I know a psychologist who kept her maiden name professionally--but she still goes by her husband%26#039;s last name privately. I%26#039;ll have to ask them how they did it.|||I really wanted to hyphenate mine. But, I have an old fashioned family as does my husband.

It was just such a pain in the rear. It was one thing back before women owned property and had their own finances, but in the modern age changing your last name is a terrible inconvenience.

My maiden name is still on the title to my house. They wanted to charge me $700 to change my last name. Interestingly enough, it%26#039;s free for me to add him to the title.

I didn%26#039;t change my name at all for 9 months after I was married. I really wish I would%26#039;ve stuck to my guns and just had it hyphenated. I do think it%26#039;s nice to take his name, but, I wish I would%26#039;ve kept my own.|||i plan on having my husbands name when we get married but i did think about keeping my maiden name but i decide not to because i think i want to have the same name as my husband since i love him i think its the least i could do|||Unless your famous there is no real reason for it. Hyphenating it isn%26#039;t as big a deal but don%26#039;t you think it would be kind of weird not having the same last name as your kids.|||thats dumb your supposed to change your last name to the mans.... the last name of a family stays with the man there for a boy keeps it the girl changes it dont be dumb and marry the first guy you meet

Why are feminists willing to forfeit their identities to abusive men, by passively changing their nicknames?

Is there some particular reason why changing your identity is more palatable than blocking these people from seeing your questions and answers? How many times does a man have to be abusive of you before you%26#039;re willing to say NO MORE!|||I know you mean me - so I%26#039;ll go ahead and say it. I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s a man who%26#039;s doing this. I am starting to believe that it is a woman, possibly even one of our top contributors. Some of them I talk to, I actually e-mail back and forth - so I know some are great women.

I wish that, whoever this person was, he/she would be %26quot;man enough%26quot; - pun intended - to just write me an e-mail and tell me how I have offended her/him. The only man who ever %26quot;offended%26quot; me was the Jackal - but that doesn%26#039;t make me feel special, as he offends lots of people - so I doubt he%26#039;s taking the time to report me. I also doubt he can. Either way - I had my b*tch fest with him - we both got reported and I moved on. I don%26#039;t hold grudges.

Thanks for sticking up for me - I truly appreciate it.

xoxoxo %26amp; ST!|||I cannot speak for the feminists here, but the only reason why I change my nicknames is just for something different.

The only thing that I%26#039;ve ever changed(for someone) was an avatar that bothered a male poster here, and it was no big deal. Nothing would%26#039;ve been achieved if I%26#039;d argued with him over it.

Sometimes you have to know when it%26#039;s worth it, there%26#039;s no point locking horns with someone and making them see your point of view if they have their own ideas and thoughts that are deeply entrenched, so you know that it%26#039;s not worth the angst.|||People,

How many times should a human being choose or be excused to abuse another? Who do these excuses REALLY benefit?|||I propose that they hold a %26quot;take back our avatars%26quot; candlelight vigil and march.|||I disagree with the choice of words in your question. Changing a nickname is not forfeiting one%26#039;s identity. I dare say, few intelligent users here share much of their true identity in this forum anyway.

The blocking tool has been rendered useless by a couple of computer savvy hackers who have the ability to get around it.

Confronting abusive online behavior often brings on more abuse.

Changing identities/nicknames may or may not prove be effective. The only way to truly end the abuse is to leave and never come back. I have not seen anything happen here that was severe enough to convince me that avoiding the discussion altogether was preferable to being more selective in which questions I choose to answer.|||Uh? Most of the weirdos on this forum are STALKERS and harassers. It doesn%26#039;t matter whether or not you block them from seeing your Q%26amp;A. They have no jobs and so will continue to devote their worthless lives to pissing people off - being %26quot;abusive%26quot; - on this website.|||Despite non stop attacks, insults, harassment, emails, and badgering I refuse to cower. Abusive men are just bullies and I learned to deal with them long ago. My father taught me well just to stand up to them. He by the way was an avid believer in equality and feminism.|||What is your history? Why do you so easily buy into the men are abusive ideology of feminists?|||It isnt just them one character from Canada who was agressive and mouthy did the same each time she got blocked by everyone or her account got deleted.

How Can A Person Change Their Identity?

I don%26#039;t mean going through the courts and legally changing your name. I mean, like a gangsta or someone who%26#039;s on the lamb, so to speak. If a person was to simply move to a different place where no one knows you, you can obviously use any name you want. But if you really want to establish a whole new life and get a different job, you%26#039;d need a drivers liscense, social security card, birth certificate, just for starters. So, seriously, how does a person change their persona????|||There are ways in which this is done and some of my former employers are very good at doing it. In fact, even when they do it there is still a record of the previous identity for National Security purposes. The only difference is only three people have access to the information.

AS an aside, Cyanne%26#039;s answer is no longer valid. When you attempt to access a new identity through a birth certificate in all 50 states, that record is now checked against death records and requires more than just a birth certificate for identification purposes.

This is what happens when you watch too much %26quot;Rockford Files%26quot; on T.V.|||They fake a birth certificate (which is really easy to do), steal a social security #, and then take those documents to the DMV to get a driver%26#039;s license.|||seriously, they don%26#039;t actually change all. there is identity theft, but i wouldn%26#039;t try that. why would anyone want to change their identity not unless your running from the law?|||The simple answer you will get is NONE, no you cannot change your identity just for fun or for kicks.

Well actually the people who can really change your identity is the government itself. If you happen to be a State witness for the prosecution of a felon. You are a witness to a crime, and it so happen the perpetrator is a known congressman/mafia boss/high profile personality, the government can introduce you to the Witness Protection Program of the government, where they will eventuall change your present name to which ever you like, you have seen the movie ERASER, the government will totally erase your past so that you can live.

So find a crime that you will eventually be a witness to that, in court.|||go into witness procteion and they will help ya|||You can legally change your name to anything you want, as long as it does not infringe upon another person%26#039;s rights...such as changing your name to Bugs Bunny, or Elmer Fudd. But you have to do it through the court system, and while a simple name change, say from Tina Rastufarian to Tina Blue only costs around 250 dollars, you do have to convince the court that you are not changing your name to avoid debt or prosecution.|||Ask an illegal alien. They do it all the time.

Have you ever thought about changing your gender?

And if you have thought about changing your gender

you probably might not have

realized how expensive it will be and it will cost you

plenty

First you will need to change your identity and this is

permanent and no going back to who you

used to be

And being on hormones and hormone replacement

therapy

And you need counseling and see a Psychiatrist

and this all adds up if no insurance

Friends who knew you they will leave and not come back

and family might reject you and

all depends here

You will need a new church family if you attend church

every Sunday

And counseling for a very long time

surgery is real expensive some cannot afford

So yes no turning back and this is a one way ticket

to being a woman or a man

from male %26gt; to female or female %26gt; to male

and this is permanent for the rest of your life

And you need to reconsider the consequence and the

aftermath and what about your neighbors

and how they will act towards you

You will be judged and all that|||I have already begun transition.

Im 20 so have my whole life ahead of me.

Im not religious so i dont worry about church.

My neighbours dont know, and i have moved into my own flat successfully.

I am aware of costs, and have saved half of the money for my op so far.

I dont see a councillor, just a specialist now and again to check how things are doing, and i am having the operation this December (2007), (having changed last November (2006).

I have lost friends, but kept some and gained new ones.

I still have my job, though i plan to get another as soon as i can, which wont be hard after i have had the operation, as most places dont want to employ someone who will be off work for 3 months at the end of the year.

So far, i am happy, and living a great life. I do have some problems at my workplace, but never anywhere else as i pass fine as a woman. I understand the consequences of this but have faced most of what i need to face, and succeeded.|||i would never change my gender.....i love being a girl......kisses|||oh no no no.....................

i like fred just the way he is, all intact.............. he%26#039;s my best friend.........|||I would not change. I like being a guy and I hate surgery, needles, and all other hospital things. The only reason I would ever want to be a girl is so I could have long hair and could style it in a lot of ways.|||I%26#039;ve never considered changing my gender.

So have I thought about changing my gender? No, despite all the uphill struggles, I love being female. I am a tomboy, always have been, when I was a kid i was always playing with castles, knights and i still have merely hatred for barbies. (i used to cut them into pieces... I know barbarian conduct...) Anyway, now i%26#039;m fifteen and last year i told my best friend that i wanted to become a man and do you know why? The reason i wanted to change my gender was because I was in love with girls and wanted the society to accept me! But i understand you, you may hate what%26#039;s going on in your body and want a different life that is not bad. If you can%26#039;t accept your life like this then go for it. If you are a girl and want to become a man then you%26#039;ll need phalloplasty operation. There%26#039;s an article in www.wikipedia.com. Do what satisfies you, your life is YOURS!

How to legally change your name in the UK?

Once I%26#039;m 18 I%26#039;m thinking of moving out and changing my identity (LEGALLY!) because i really don%26#039;t like the life I%26#039;ve lead so far and I%26#039;d like to start fresh somehow...I really want to change my name but I%26#039;ve no idea how I would go about it.

Any advice on the route I%26#039;d have to take (In the UK please) would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance|||You do this via a %26quot;Deed Poll%26quot;

http://www.ukdps.co.uk/HowToApply.html

You have to inform banks, etc. of the change.

My friend changed his name to Respectable Face Of Engineering once.

Lastly, do whatever you want. If things go wrong you can always change it back again.|||You need to go through the Deed Poll (UK ) Service.

There will be a fee and administration charge for changing your name.

Not all applications get accepted.

What are you changing your name to?|||Go to the court house and ask for the papers to do so

You may and will have to have a man of the court to do the work for you

You can not do it all by your self

Kind of like when a woman gets married

.

She can only do so if a man that is recognized by the court being in a position to do such a ceremony

.|||Name changes are by Deed Poll down at the council office.

There is no need to chnage your name for a fresh start really, just new surroundings and a new attitude. A change of name won%26#039;t change you as a person. You have to do that. If the name change helps, then go for it. But have a think about it first.|||Changing your NAME would NOT change the person you are.|||You need to go through the Deed Poll (UK ) Service.

There will be a fee and administration charge for changing your name.|||You can change your name to whatever you want in the UK but a Change of Name Deed will be needed to change official records: tax, passport, bank account, etc.

You don%26#039;t need to go through an expensive Deed Poll agency as its a fairly simple Deed but you may need to sign the Deed before a Notary if you decide to go ahead.

Call yourself Bet or Beth, or using your middle name as your first name are other options.

Or get married to someone with a name you like!

I hope things turn out better for you.|||Other answers are incorrect. In the Uk you have the right to call yourself whatever you want as long as it is not for financial gain. HMRC, DVLC, etc will accept your name change if you just write and say that you now wish to be know by xxxx name.

This right in enshrined in English case law and dont let anyone else try and tell you differently.

How long will your “I” exist?

Within nature everything changes. Some things grow and something decay. Even matter has a rate of reduction caused by subatomic particles abandoning their nucleolus.

Considering the fact that your body grows and changes but your identity remain constant, why do you think that your “I” will change when your body dies? It seems logical to say if identity is constant through bodily changes it will continue to be constant after the ultimate change of death.|||I%26#039;ll use the Latin word %26#039;ego%26#039; to describe what you are pointing to.

Having been thrown out of my body (twice, at different times) I am aware - or should I say I believe - that your ego is not made of matter, and therefore is not subject to the material processes of time and space. This puts us into a different category of Life altogether.

Re-incarnationists believe that outside of the space/time continuum, we exists as beings who are part of higher beings, who are part . . . .until we get to the stage where we step up to the bottom rung of the next ladder. This is the process of learning, where we enter a body, and learn things, gaining experience which takes us to the next lifetime with a bit more wisdom.

In the end (if there is such a thing) we are all part of the one Force,I call Life. Some call it God, but whatever, we are all part of It, and It is part of Us.

Confused? Join the club.|||Quit smoking so much pot.|||You can%26#039;t exist without love,

and there is no %26quot;I%26quot; in the word love. %26lt;}:-})-{♥|||till I die. then I become something else.|||Once you die your body will begin to decay, but your soul will always be in existence. Once you die your soul will either go to Heaven or Hell. If you trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior and asked Him to forgive you of your sins and come nto your life He will and you will go to Heaven once you die. If you choose not to except Christ yow will haveto go to Hell. You see God cannot allow sin into Heaven so He provided a sacrifice a way of washng our sins away by accepting Jesus. Jesus washes all sins away. You will exist as long as God wants you on this earth. :-)|||It depends on what you believe in. Personally, I believe that our consciousness/spirit will go on once our bodies die, but we will lose our identity after a while. I think we will still have some of the same things, maybe our names and voices, but our features may become less distinct. Ultimately, we%26#039;ll be one with something great...I just don%26#039;t know what that is.|||Well my identity does change, but the sense of %26quot;I%26quot; does remain constant, and I think that%26#039;s what you mean.. However one thing that allows for knowing that the %26quot;I%26quot; is constant is memory. If my memory goes, even if %26quot;I%26quot; may continue to exist, I will no longer be aware of my existence outside of the moment.

This doesn%26#039;t preclude life after death, or even continued consciousness necessarily. But conversely the continued awareness of self during life doesn%26#039;t necessarily mean there will be continued awareness after life.|||Seeing as how %26quot;I%26quot; am just the collection of thoughts and experiences packaged in this particular brain, when that fails, %26quot;I%26quot; will cease to be.|||only I know! (no pun intended)|||I believe that self-identity is merely a cultural convention born naturally of our sentience. I do not identify %26quot;myself%26quot; (for lack of a better word) to myself. Since you mentioned the sub-atomic level I will also mention the microscopic. Is it fair to say that we are a colony of cells each living and although inter-dependent, each a living organism?

If that is so, then self-awareness is the sole anchor to self-identity.

If you say that my %26quot;I%26quot; remains constant despite the state of entropy that rules over matter. Then the veritable question is %26quot;How long will the state of entropy last%26quot;? How long will time exist?

If my identity remains regardless of time passing, what happens in the eventuality of a total absence of time?

Since we know there is no Cosmological Constant, there is no reason to not believe in the Big Rip theory, which predicts the end of time itself.

Then surely my %26quot;I%26quot; will cease to exist as matter and time will be gone.

As with all philosophical questions though, I will be complacent into finding no definitive answer.

Will my own death break the bond of my identity (if I am to assume I have one attributed by means other than self-awareness or societal consensus)?

After my death, won%26#039;t my relatives still refer to %26quot;Me%26quot;? Will I cease to be a colony of cells that can be mathematically referred to as 1 unit of live/dead human?

No, but my identity will have mutated. As all things, physical or conceptual.

How do you describe your identity? Write a brief account of your strengths and

weaknesses? What is your viewpoint about success? Has your concept of your-self

changed overtime? How?

Please could anyone tell me the answer to this question|||Identity: Artist at heart but too worrisome and practical to pursue that interest as a career. Determined to give any future kids a better life than her mother gave her.

Strengths: Determined, I do what I set my mind to. If it%26#039;s important enough to me, I%26#039;ll succeed. Individuality, I don%26#039;t try to fit in, if I fit in it%26#039;s because I happen to enjoy doing the same things that make people fit in, not because I%26#039;m trying. I don%26#039;t give in to peer pressure. If I do something, it%26#039;s because I wanted to for me.

Weaknesses: Overly emotional, my emotions get in my way and influence my decisions more often than they should. Poor self-concept, even though if I think about it rationally, I can show myself hard evidence of otherwise, I can%26#039;t believe that I am attractive, intelligent, thin, funny, interesting, or in any other way desirable. I%26#039;m constantly assuming people only talk to me because they%26#039;re %26quot;just being nice%26quot;. It takes me a long time before I truly believe somebody is my friend because they actually like me and want to spend time with me. I%26#039;m convinced that someday my boyfriend will find somebody better, and assume he already has but hasn%26#039;t noticed yet.

I%26#039;m going to sound a bit like Freud here, but these problems stem from my childhood and I can%26#039;t seem to get them resolved.

I%26#039;m also stubborn, which, depending on the situation can be a strength or a weakness. It gets me what I want sometimes, and other times it makes me look like a fool.

Viewpoint on success: ANYBODY can be successful if they strive to do their best in what they set their mind to BUT they have to do this for the things they want to succeed in for themselves. Not because mom will be proud or because they%26#039;ll make 200k a year. Because they truly, really want to do what they do. Whether it%26#039;s finger painting in pre-school, or deciding what to major in, in college. You can have a 10k annual salary and still be successful.

Self-concept changed: Sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror I can actually see that I%26#039;m pretty. It%26#039;s becoming easier and easier for me to see myself the way others do.

How:Mostly due to my mother kicking me out of my house at age 18. It was a horrible place to live and was utter hell emotionally. I switched schools, moved into a new household and was given the opportunity to come out of my shell. I became fairly popular at school (not super popular, but people from every group knew who I was) in the two months I was there. I ended up living in a loving, stable, accepting household.|||My character is a mix of both my strengths and my weaknesses. I am a person blessed by strengths and weaknesses and also burdened by strengths and weaknesses. They are who I am. I have learned to live with and accept both aspects of my character. I am loved and I love while having both of these qualities. I have and always will live with the prospect and expectations that I will improve and become a better person with the help of God.|||i am a person who feels things very deeply and thinks way too much. i tend towards self-centeredness, but am capable of great empathy if the circumstances are right. i believe that i am always learning, growing, and changing, and that year by year if i were introduced to my former self i would have a hard time recognizing her. my only real idea of success is happiness, something completely ephemeral and seemingly forever out of my grasp, but it is the only thing i really want in life. it is the details that are constantly changing, just like me. compassion and mercy are my highest ideals. shame and anxiety are my biggest problems, leading me to do harm to myself and others.

did i mention i have a flair for the dramatic?|||Well, it%26#039;ll take too long to describe myself like how you ask. I%26#039;d right a book about it if I started.

But one strength I have is an open mind and the ability to read people really well. I%26#039;m not popular like the preppy people in school, but I%26#039;m well liked by everybody.|||My strength is to be able to always hit at people%26#039;s weakest areas no matter how well I know them. My weak point, I%26#039;m not usually tactfull. I think that success is working hard. I don%26#039;t know what has changed over time.

How to change your name to avoid your creditors?

Someone in Australia owes me a large sum of money after a legal stoush in which I was the defendant.

He no longer uses the name he once did and sold all the assets held in that name. How can I find him to serve the bankruptcy notice on him? How can you change your name just like that?

Obviously the Police and Govt have access to Tax file and Australian Business Numbers and his drivers licence etc and they can find him in this way.. but how can a private citizen find a person who has changed their identity to avoid their debts?|||You can change your name very easily actually... costs about $100 and takes about 4 weeks to get your change of name certificate in the mail! However, you still have the same tax file number just under your new name and you advise them that you have changed your name and its on record your previous and current name. When you apply for a ABN you also must tell them if your are previously known by any other name, everything legal that you apply for asks if your are known previously by any other name. As for you being able to find him, if he owes you money through the courts they can track him, the %26#039;births deaths and marriages%26#039; in the capital city of the state he changed his name in would have the record of the name change (providing he did it legally and has not just %26#039;gone underground%26#039;) not sure on the conditions of which you would be able to access that info though, but the website will tell you the requirements... otherwise hire a private investigator, they can access things we can%26#039;t with their P.I. licence...good luck...|||The only way to do it is go back to the courts and get them to deal with it|||If he did it legally there will be a court record. If he%26#039;s hiding under the radar, then good luck.

What is considered a legitimate reason to change your surname?

I%26#039;ve hated my full name since I was a tiny child.

I%26#039;m a musician and artist and I feel like I was meant to have a unique name all my own, that sparkles.

The name %26quot;Sara Smith%26quot; is so excruciatingly plain... and I HATE it (I%26#039;m over 18). I dread being asked what my last name is. I literally cringe whenever someone pages me, and it makes my life miserable.

I have a couple reasons I want to change it.

I really LOVE Spanish culture and I have a Spanish ancestor... I%26#039;ve always identified with Latin stuff, and when I%26#039;m forced to use the hated surname of %26quot;Smith,%26quot; I feel like I%26#039;m being forced to deny my Spanish heritage.

Also, I just hate how the first and last name sound together.

Above all, I hate having a common full name. It%26#039;s annoying. People need to have a special sense of identity. Name is a big part of your identity, and my name is a tag that says, %26quot;Just another girl.%26quot; Sara Smith... how plain and generic can you get?? I can never cherish a name like that! I%26#039;m constantly being confused with some other Sara Smith, and I feel like I%26#039;m one of many. I want a unique name all my own. I%26#039;m not a plain, boring person; I don%26#039;t want a plain, boring name.

I don%26#039;t want anything outrageous, I just want a name that uniquely identifies me.|||The need for a legal name change may result from marriage, divorce, adoption or simply a desire to have another name.

Pagans/Heathens: Have you changed your religious identity?

Do you identify yourself in the same way or follow the same religion that you did when you were first exposed to Paganism or a Pagan religion?

Or have you redefined your beliefs or even changed Pagan religions entirely?

I%26#039;m basically wondering how many people have ended up essentially at the same place they started and how many have modified beliefs while still remaining Pagan. |||I began my path 13 years ago in a more Atheistic camp... %26quot;I don%26#039;t believe in God(s)! But I like magick! Wheee!%26quot;

Figuring out that I was best served by an eclectic path was a good move on my part. I%26#039;ve always embraced the idea that I don%26#039;t have the answers, and that no one path seems to have the answers I%26#039;m looking for. Instead, I%26#039;ve found them randomly scattered within other contexts, and put them into a more cohesive form that seems to work. Change is what has made that possible. And reasearch. Lot%26#039;s and lot%26#039;s of research. I%26#039;ve definitely noticed changes in myself and in the nature of my path that came through that process.

It would be strange if I didn%26#039;t change, based on all of that. And, kind of funny that you should mention it...

I%26#039;m in a mirky place compared to where I%26#039;ve started. I%26#039;m on the precipice of some big changes based on experiences I can%26#039;t quite rectify. I couldn%26#039;t buy into the %26quot;the gods and goddesses are all aspects of a cosmic divine%26quot; and other stuff just didn%26#039;t ring for me.

10 years later (after exploring Celtic and Native American traditions) I found Heathenism and found the religion that sings to my very nature, that I had been looking for in the Marine Corps, in Christianity (and VERY lacking) and in Wicca.

I haven%26#039;t changed my religious identity since but I have clarified my beliefs along the way.

|||Spiritually I think I have always been a pagan, it was a long journey to discover there was a word for what I believed. When I was young, I was a rebel, and didn%26#039;t have the patience or tolerance for any form of organised religion.

I have always loved and been drawn to the religions of my people, the Celts and the Norse, and I think my gypsy blood is what originally drew me to the Craft. But I find as I grow older, it is the religion of Kemet that I find the most appealing. |||I have always identifed myself as a traditional Wiccan/ Pagan according to the information I have gotten from a study of the old tribes of Europe.I have never considered myself Neo-Pagan and never will.I follow a strictly Pre-English ,Pre-Christian form of Wicca and have only reenforced my beliefs through the cultural study of the Celts of Old Britain.I do not appologize for my views and info and do not compromise my practice except to the point of adapting to modern man law (to avoid prison) and not promoting certain old practices that could be dangerous to my students or myself due to the society we live in. Why do people get married?

almost every time I%26#039;ve seen it fall apart

I don%26#039;t see how a ring is suppose to keep to people together

and its probably a lot of legal problems later on .

Your last name is part of your identity

why take your spouses name? that person cant be a part of your verry own identity, just a part of your life.

since you are not by blood in there family isn%26#039;t that kinda like false identity?

OPONIONS PLEASE?|||My opinion on marriage: it%26#039;s not for everyone. My husband and I got married because we wanted to, pure and simple. We%26#039;ve never thought that the piece of paper or the rings on our fingers would keep us together...the ring to me is just an outward sign of my commitment to him and him to me. As far as the name change thing...I took his last name because I hated my last name, lol. He offered to take my last name, but I couldn%26#039;t stand that;) A couple of years ago we legally changed our last name to honor his biological father. my last name is part of my PARENTS%26#039; identity and i dont want it. i would much rather take the name of my husband because i believe that when two people wed they become one and she takes his name. it is not a false identity. it is a new identity that comes from getting married.|||i felt similar to you before i met my husband. every marriage that i had seen in my family had failed and if they hadn%26#039;t divorced yet, they weren%26#039;t happy, they were together for other reasons, such as for the kids or whatever. the night i met my husband, i knew he was the one and my ideas completely changed.

as far as the name change thing, i did not change my name because in his culture (he%26#039;s arabic) woman don%26#039;t usually take their husband%26#039;s names. i could have if i wanted to but at the time i didn%26#039;t, now i kind of wish i did. when you get married, you start a life with that other person, you aren%26#039;t giving up on the life you had by taking their name, just starting a new one. the ring isn%26#039;t what keeps you together, its the love and commitment you have for each other. not saying its easy, its definitely a lot of work sometimes but anything worth having, you will have to work for. your mind might change when you meet the right person.|||If people want to change their name that is fine, I dont have a problem with people that do. Personally, my name is staying put.

As far as getting married... My opinion is that it is for the legal benefits only, especially legal marriage. I mean, if you want to be married by the church or whatever, cool. But legal marriage is ONLY about the legal benefits.

My spouse and I are not legally married and wont be until we have children.|||wooo! that is a mouthful!

I married my spouse in 2002. I was 29 yrs old. he was 25. I always thought marriage was just a piece of paper and it didn%26#039;t have alot of meaning,

however with former boyfriends, not having that silly piece of paper gave them a reason NOT to be faithful, because they weren%26#039;t married.

My relationship now, is the longest relationship I have had, and ours gets better all the time because we APPRECIATE each others differences.

Marriage is a SERIOUS step, shouldn%26#039;t be mistaken as %26quot;cute%26quot;. their is nothing cute about a lifelong %26quot;contract%26quot; with another human being.

You get married because you can%26#039;t stand to be apart from your partner, you don%26#039;t want to share them with anyone else, and oddly enough you wouldn%26#039;t even mind bearing their children and having a family.

Being married is more than a diamond ring to show off to your immature girlfriends.

It is a symbol to others that you have committed your life to someone else, and that you are spoken for.

Legal problems stem from someone in the marriage breaking their contractual agreement. It happens.

An individual changes their name because they choose to become one with their spouse.

If I had a child, it would carry on my husbands last name. that would be my child, and his child. Since I chose my husbands last name, now we both share that name with our child. You do not lose your identity just because you take your husbands name! if anything, you gain an identity, which separates you into a living and thinking individual, because you CHOOSE to take the name!|||You are right you don%26#039;t have to change you name you are getting married to get a divorce so why change it. You will save time and money.|||Marriage is not as bad as your opinions, it%26#039;s not all fights and arguments, yes there are some but if you love each other then you work it out.

I personally changed my name, but that is because we are planning to have children and it%26#039;s easier to change your name from the beginning rather than a few years into the marriage.

When you marry your spouse becomes your family, he/she should be your number 1 concern and until you realize that you shouldn%26#039;t get married.|||in theory when a woman agrees to marry a man and live a separate life with him you are essentially leaving your family and forming a new family. and because for hundreds of years women had no say and men were considered the head of the household then you had to take his last name. i have been married (and divorced) twice and with my first marriage i kept my maiden name but with my second i took his name. honestly i wish i would have kept my maiden name the second time too. i thought about changing it but then me and my children would have different last names and that can be hard for kids to understand when they are going through a lot already. but on your other point yes i agree that marriage is completely over rated and the next time i get into a committed relationship there will not be that issue. i will just %26quot;live in sin%26quot; !|||I got married because i met and fell in love with mr right. i too have seen marriages fail but usually one or both people were not doing their part to keep the love there. and when you marry you take your husbands name because while he is not blood you and him are one. 2 halves that make a whole. for me it was a sign of trust and loyalty to my hubby i wanted my last name to be his and i wanted my last name to match my kids...and hun they are blood so it is right all the way around. and no it is not like a false identity.|||No that%26#039;s not false idenity... Your social security number remains the same...|||Marriage is a strong commitment. Granted it is not easy all the time. To me if you are totally comitted to your life partner you share everything even your name.

Your true identity never changes?

hello my lovely people. :) So I%26#039;m 16 and in high school, and all my life I%26#039;ve been a people-pleaser. I would change and alter myself just to be friends with EVERYONE, and I just get tried of it. But you are who you are right? I%26#039;m deciding to stop pleasing people and start acting like myself, once I figure out how to be myself. i have my own interests and am different from everyone else. It%26#039;s impossible to change your true personality. I mean everyone%26#039;s different, has different interests, talks differently and has their own quirk. That%26#039;s just your nature and you just can%26#039;t change that, you just have to follow it for yourself to be happy correct? But what makes people different? Is it the way your born? I havent been myself for so long that I don%26#039;t really understand why I enjoy the things I do, and how they are naturally different than the girl next door, and little by little I am trying to discover my identity, but what makes up my identity? Is it just the way i am, the way I was born?|||Identity does change over time. It would be quite strange if it didn%26#039;t, considering the different situations, mental factors and experiences between then and now.

Attempting to identify your identity - well, that%26#039;s just going to limit you. You%26#039;re going to end up saying of certain things %26quot;that%26#039;s not who I am, so I wont try it%26quot; - it%26#039;s almost inevitable. (Someone once advised me that if I ever felt like I had an identity, I should immediately try to counter it so as not to limit myself. Would be bad, taken to extremes, but I hope you get the point). Just try new things, and do what you feel happy doing. Self-concious %26quot;idenities%26quot; are usually wrong anyway.

Personality traits are a mix of genetic factors and environmental factors.

EDIT: Quote. I like it, anyway:

%26quot;Every man has three characters: that which he shows, that which he has, and that which he thinks he has.%26quot; (Alphonse Karr)|||well you are very young, but these behaviors are things you can get over if you want to. but it takes a lot of work. i recovered by dancemeditation. you can%26#039;t think your way out of it. you can and will change over your life. pursue a deep spiritual path to accelerate it. eventually identity does not matter at all.|||At 16 you are about five years too young to make use of this, but I am going to let you know about it anyway, because you sound sharp and intelligent and like you want to learn about yourself. Use them to outline your own search for who you are, the %26quot;contents%26quot; of your personality. They are the most complete way yet to learn ab ut yourself in depth yet in a short time. -- Dr. Bob, Adlerian Psychologist|||i think you think too much, it sounds like your over analysing. everyone is different, people are different for all sorts of reasons, e.g. their environment, where they come from, parents, genes. it%26#039;s just your nature, who ever you feel to be is you.

i mean life is about change, people are constantly changing. when you are a teenager your personality changes a whole lot. just don%26#039;t be a people pleaser it is not worth it and don%26#039;t compare yourself to other people it can make you feel bad.

i agree with j.

P.S. don%26#039;t worry yourself about this, it%26#039;s not worth it|||you are who you are, and you can%26#039;t change who you are at your very core.

BUT being a people pleaser is NOT who you are. being a people pleaser is partly your way to AVOID being who you are.

As to why you are people pleaser....look at your background. were you raised to be the good girl and do as mommy and daddy told you and you%26#039;re trying to appease the authority figures in your life? (this is a very common reason for most people pleasers)

Were you taught that in order to be a %26quot;nice%26quot; person you have to make everyone happy and not upset anyone? (another common reason and one that is taught to females almost exclusively. BTW: not possible to do. You can%26#039;t please everyone all of the time and you can%26#039;t some people ever)

Were the authority figures in your life so unreliable that you decided you needed to be super reliable and dependable? (MY reason for being a former people pleaser)

Accept the fact that everyone is not going to like you. Accept the fact that you can%26#039;t live your life in a manner that will gain you acceptance from everyone. figure out who you are and be true to yourself. Always have compassion for others and offer assistance when you are able, but don%26#039;t try to live your life to please others without taking your own needs and wants into consideration as well.

Yes, I do frequently change my usernames and passwords.|||Monitor your accounts and report any errors immediately.

Why Does Law Enforcement Allow Identity Thieves To Get Away With Using Your Information/ Change Your Address?

That Includes Local Police and Postal Inspectors? How Is that?|||Unfortunately with most identity theft it is easier for the thief than the victim to prove ownership of the disputed identity than the actual person. In some cases the theft has taken place years earlier and or it happens in a country where there is little or no corporation between them and the US. Both Law enforcement agency%26#039;s and the victims need to take more care and pay more attention to this as it make all of us more vulnerable to terrorists in all of their permutations.

|||I saw a show on Dateline NBC called %26#039;To Catch an ID thief%26#039; with Cris Hanson. From watching that show i learned that most identity thieves live in other countries. They use public computers and it is nearly impossible to catch them. And even if they get caught, there isn%26#039;t much our country can do about it since it is an international scheme.|||Thieves must be incarcerated and policemen must track them even when they change their address.|||Are you seriously asking why every criminal is not caught? For the same reason you don%26#039;t get a ticket every time you turn right on red without a complete stop.

How would you conceal your secret identity...?

If you gained super powers today, and you wanted to go into business as a super hero, how would you go about concealing your secret identity? I%26#039;m looking for realistic suggestions. You%26#039;re not wealthy, you didn%26#039;t have any choice about your powers, and you already have an established identity as your current self.

How could you disguise your appearance so that you could not be identified? How would you conceal your comings and goings so that you could not be tracked down? How would you change your habits so that people who knew you would not recognize your personal idiosyncracies?

How would you learn about crimes/ disasters in progress, to be able to help in time?

How much would it all cost? Where would you get the equipment?

How would you deal with the inevitable publicity? The inevitable stalkers? If someone held hostages, trying to force you to use your powers to serve them?

9 NOV 06, 1644 hrs, GMT.|||It would probably depend on what super powers I had gained. If I could fly, that would definitely complicate things. But, if my powers were such as super strength, super speed, super hearing, and the like, then I wouldn%26#039;t have to have a secret identity. Of course, that only works for me, because of what I already do.

Since I am already a police officer, those abilities would just make me really, really effective at it. I wouldn%26#039;t be going full super speed or anything, but going really fast would be all that%26#039;s needed to catch the bad guys. And the super strength would mean they can%26#039;t try to fight to get away, I could just stick them in cuffs and in the car. No muss, no fuss. And since I have a police radio, hearing about crimes and things in progress would not be an issue.

No special equipment needed, no secret identity. Just a really effective cop who always %26quot;happens%26quot; to be in the right place at the right time.

Of course, if you specify some different super powers, my scenario would have to adjust accordingly.

On a similar note (though I%26#039;m not sure he qualifies as a %26quot;super hero%26quot;), have you even seen the TV show from a few years ago called, %26quot;Forever Knight%26quot;. It was a vampire who was trying to make up for his years of ill deeds. He became a police officer and worked night shift. He used his abilities to get an edge up on the bad guys. And his bosses thought he had a %26quot;skin condition%26quot;, so he could only work at night. That%26#039;s all the secret identity he needed.

And there is the new NBC show, %26quot;Heroes%26quot;. It is dealing with people suddenly realizing they have powers, and follows them as they try to deal with their powers and the problems they bring. So far, the writers and actors have done a very good job, and it makes for a great show.|||Then the lamp tipped over and we all woke up !|||I%26#039;m quite sure that I wouldn%26#039;t maintain secrecy by publishing it here on the internet.|||I%26#039;d wear a fake mustache.

Each time I come out the same as I was before, and I always come back to the good ol%26#039; Ramjet name. It%26#039;s how people know me.

What is the process of changing your entire identity?

Virtually changing everything possible about you. What is everything that can legally be changed (ie name) and such. How do you go about doing so? Thanks.

Note: Please do not ask my reason for wanting to know.|||Now days, it%26#039;s very difficult to accomplish successfully, legally or even illegally. As a native English speaker, how did learning Japanese effect your identity? would you like to ask?

As an individual, we have different factors that make up our identity: personality, age, gender, social networks, social status, etc. So when learning Japanese, whether in Australia, or in Japan, how did your identity change? Do you now have 2 identities in your opinion? How were you treated as a foreigner: do native speakers help you in speech, or do they watch you struggle?|||For me, personally, I feel that learning Japanese has changed my identity a great deal. Keep in mind that I learnt Japanese while living here, so it was not only the language, but also the body language and customs that affected me.

I feel, and this is always confirmed when I go home, that I%26#039;ve become much quieter as a person. I%26#039;m more prone to leaving longer gaps in conversation as I let everyone involved think about what%26#039;s being said. I%26#039;m also far less likely to have heated debates (much to my debate-loving husband%26#039;s despair), as I just find that direct confrontation is disagreeable to me now. My parents have found this quite disturbing because I used to be a pretty angry teenager (weren%26#039;t we all?). In essence, now if I don%26#039;t have something nice to say, I generally don%26#039;t say anything.

I know that this one is going to get me a ton of thumbs down, but in Japan I%26#039;ve learnt a lot about hierarchy and knowing one%26#039;s place. As an ALT I am on the bottom of the ladder in my office%26#039;s hierarchy. At first I thought that this was great because I wasn%26#039;t responsible for anything, but after a while, I noticed that my supervisor would get chewed out whenever I messed something up. This taught me that I am still responsible for my actions, and that I should always do my best so that my supervisor and fellow workers can be proud of me. I%26#039;ve learnt a lot about gratitude and giving thanks while here in Japan. Saying %26quot;oskaresamadeshita%26quot; to your work-mates and having it said to you almost daily is very re-affirming. How often do we tell each other %26quot;Thank you for all your hard work%26quot; in Western countries?

As for Japanese assistance, my fellow workers have always gone out of their way to help me. At first it was just other English teachers who could understand what I needed, but eventually the Japanese language teachers and other staff all pitched in. They%26#039;ve learnt over time that I%26#039;m a visual learner and I don%26#039;t remember stuff that they%26#039;ve tld me the first time. Now they always write things down for me so I can remember. Also, in my first few years they were very tolerant of my terrible Japanese. Lately however, they have begun to be very fussy of how I use Japanese. My co-worker and best friend explained that they understand that I have the basics, so now they are trying to teach me how and when to use proper politeness levels and other situational phrases.

I hope that helps?|||Learning the langauge did change my identity slightly. How do you change your identity completely (like birth certificate, full name, etc.)?

I seriously want to start my life almost over. The past is completely hideous with the ludicrously dysfunctional family; the horrid people in high school; the lackadaisical ways due to depression, bipolar disorder, physical illnesses; the failure to reach goals; bad character; etc. . I%26#039;m 20 years old and going for my Associates degree in college with 3 weeks of this semester and one final semester left. Once I%26#039;m finished, I%26#039;d like to bail out of hellhole house that I live in and leave everyone behind me because carrying these horrendous bits and pieces of the past will haunt me. However, I%26#039;ll keep these things in mind to remind myself to keep moving positively forward.|||United States

State laws regulate name changes in the United States.

Usually a person can adopt any name desired for any reason. There are differences in specific requirements among U.S. states, but usually a court order is needed to change names (which would be applied for in a state court). It is necessary to plead that the name change is not for a fraudulent or other illegal purpose (such as evading a lien or debt, or for defaming someone.)

The applicant may be required to give a somewhat reasonable explanation for wanting to change his/her name. A fee is generally payable, and the applicant may be required to post legal notices in newspapers to announce the name change. Generally the judge has judicial discretion to grant or deny a change of name, especially if the name change is for %26quot;frivolous%26quot; or %26quot;immoral%26quot; purposes, such as changing one%26#039;s name to %26quot;God,%26quot; %26quot;Penis,%26quot; or %26quot;Copyright.%26quot;

In 2004, a Missouri man did succeed in changing his name to %26quot;They.%26quot; [1] The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled that a name change to %26quot;1069%26quot; could be denied, but that %26quot;Ten Sixty-Nine%26quot; was acceptable (Application of Dengler, 1979), and the North Dakota Supreme Court denied the same request several years before (Petition of Dengler, 1976). [2][3]

In nearly all states one cannot choose the name of a notable person with the intent to mislead, a name that is intentionally confusing, a racial slur, fighting words (threats and obscenities,) or a name that incites violence.

Under the federal immigration and nationality law, when aliens apply for naturalization, they have the option of asking for their names to be changed upon the grant of citizenship with no additional fees. This allows them the opportunity to adopt a more Americanized name. In the 2005 version of Form N-400--Application for Naturalization--Part 1 (D) asks whether the person applying for naturalization would like to legally change his or her name. During the naturalization interview, a petition for name change is prepared to be forwarded to a federal court. The applicant certifies that he or she is not seeking a change of name for any unlawful purpose such as the avoidance of debt or evasion of law enforcement. Such a name change becomes final once a federal court naturalizes an applicant.

In some states, individuals are often allowed to return to the use of any prior surname (e.g., maiden name upon divorce.) Some states, such as New York, also allow married couples to adopt any new surname upon marriage, which may be a hyphenated form of the bride%26#039;s and groom%26#039;s names, a combination of parts of their family names, or any new family name they can agree upon adopting as the married name.

In order to maintain one%26#039;s identity, it is desirable to obtain a formal order so there is continuity of personal records.

The %26quot;open and notorious%26quot; use of a name is often sufficient to allow one to use an assumed name. In some jurisdictions, individuals may register the use of a trade name that is distinct from their legal name and is registered with the county clerk, secretary of state, or other similar government authority. Individuals who wish to publish materials and do not have the publication associated with them, may publish under a pseudonym; such a right is protected under the First Amendment.

And you cant do it any way. unless you join the cia or witness protection.|||You can%26#039;t change your birth certificate, because you can%26#039;t change your parents, the date you were born on, or the place where you were born. You can change everything else. It isn%26#039;t difficult to change your name - check with the bureau of vital statistics where you live to find out the exact process and the costs. Just a suggestion -- do it before you finish your last semester in college, then your degree will be in your new name. Otherwise you will have to present a degree bearing your old name to your prospective employers, and explain why the name is different. It%26#039;s much easier to have the degree issued with your new name, and let it mark the beginning of your new life.

Good luck to you!|||Except in extreme legal cases approved by the authorities, you cannot change your identity. Full names can be changed by deed poll but depending on which country you are residing in, you may have to officially declare the new name as an alias. You can%26#039;t legally change a birth certificate, except in the case of errors in the original document.|||Just move away and have no further contact with them.
