I am asking in relation to a college project based on identity and how significant moments shape who we are. I am hoping to use anonymous accounts in my final video piece. Thank you for your time and help!

When my Grandfather died. It made me think about everything he taught me and all he lived for. He taught me how to save money and invest. Also the most important thing to give: respect. Ever since then, I;ve tried to live a perfect live. but as you know, nothings perfect.

October 16th 1995, MMM aka Million Man March. Greatest day of my life. Never ever will I forget that feeling. Never been the same since. Changed how I see my country, my people, and my self.
meeting Lama Anagorika Govinda...

Had a bad freak out smoking way too much weed once.
Felt like i was already dead and reality is just an illusion, changed my perception of the world and human beings. Made me think deeper about everything, even changed the way i look at myself.
When my boys were born.
A world war on the high seas made me a confirmed fatalist
being born i'd say that was fairly significant!
When I was 22, I read John Douglas's %26quot;Mindhunter.%26quot; In it, there was a graphic description of the brutal rape and murder of an innocent young girl. At the time, I was strongly religious, but I realized that what had happened to that young girl undermined everything I believed about an omnipotent, all-loving God. My faith deteriorated from that point forward and now I am confidently an atheist, although it has cost me my connection to the community I previously enjoyed. But that was definitely a %26quot;moment%26quot; after which my entire identity was upended.
Having my girlfriend dump me because i was a miserable, stubborn asshole. That was a real wake up call for me and has changed who i am completely. :)
One of my first jobs, I was unhappy and unmotivated. I was brought into the boss, who looked at me and explained, in no uncertain terms, I was expendable and replaceable.
I grew up on the spot. It made me realize not only how perception influences your happiness, (I was now really happy I still had a job) but how personal responsibility affects success.
Learning about the Holocaust was VERY impactful to me and changed my outlook on life a LOT
