My family is slightly gangster, I go to a prep school, but I have slightly rocker/prep tendencies, probably from my school and personal influence. I'm black myself. I used to be slightly gangster before school and when I hung out with my family a lot (btw, when I say gangster, i mean into rap, r%26amp;b, and basically black culture), but I changed when I didn't hang with them as often and only went to school. Now whenever I'm with them, i feel somewhat out of place, which I never felt before. They are my family, going way back before my school, so I feel confused. the other problem is that I see a little of myself in everyone, so I change from group to group, and can't choose on one. I also see everyone as with a potential to be good, with no bad intentions. So I get along with everybody, but I change myself a lot, to get their good side, which I usually succeed at. I don't want to lose this value, but how do you find your place in this world when you're being pulled in so many directions??
How do you find your identity???I'm having a major identity crisis here.?
Look inside yourself silly.

hahahahahahahah. That is a classic opening line, %26quot;my family is slightly gangster!%26quot; haha.
Just be and do what YOU want to do, then look in the mirror.
I like all types of music! I'm african american. If I'm with african americans and a good country song comes on.I can't help myself but to move or sing along! The instant the beat hits me.I know I like it. If I were to host a party, I'd play music that would overall please my guests.but,if I'm in my car and you're riding with me.I choose the %26quot;jams%26quot;, I may be nice and play every other song you like.
Be yourself, you can be polite and say no! Be yourself always!
my way of thinking about this is to adopt a bit of everything. take the good of all of those things and stay positive. i personally listen to everything from frank sinatra to lil john %26quot;WHAT!!!%26quot; lol ok. it makes you a more worldly person. it may seem hard to do but when you get older you will realize that it works out to your advantage. you will be able to associate will all kids of people and that will help you in the long run, especially in the work force, trust me, office politics is one of the leading reasons people hate their jobs. interpersonal communications is key, and by mixing your styles you can create a more holistic and individualistc you. dont follow a crowd. gangster, rocker or w/e. just be you. you can like rock music, that wont change the fact that your family wont stop loving.
You have a problem that will stick with you. It's great to get along with everyone, but my experience has been it's always hard to know what you really think. I have learned to judge more by my actions than anything else.
For your family and friends, my suggestion is to always live 'far enough' away, like another state. Then, when you visit, allow yourself to be 'on vacation' and just do what your friends %26amp; family like to do.
I think you are on your way, and that's good thing.
you must act like you are feeling,
you must belong only to yourself 100%.- it's all that matters.
and it's a good think that you are finding yourself in many groups - so you can know yourself by knowing others and by taking only what you think it's good for YOU.
.....sorry for my english
Look under the sofa. Did you lose your identity there?
If you can't find it, think about what you believe in, what your morals are, what you enjoy doing etc. Be yourself in different groups by occasionally disagreeing with people out loud when something doesn't sit right with you.
Learn to please yourself instead of being such a people pleaser.
