Psychological Experiment! Inspired by 'The race to size zero' need all your support!!! Any suggestions?

Okay, I am doing a psychological experiment to give an insight into the life of teens today. I will be using a false name for this experiment to secure my own identity. My experiment was inspired by the programme 'The race to size Zero' I will be conducting the experiment to provide a detailed insight into the pressure to looking 'acceptable' today. I will add at this stage that I have been to the doctors and have been given the all clear, I will also being going for regular check ups during the experiment as my health is obviously more important than this.

I am conducting this experiment as I wish to have a better understanding of how changing your body so drastically can affect the mental and social welfare and acceptance. I will be experiencing first hand these changes.

I am currently a size 8/10 and am a healthy 9 and a half stone. I have 8 weeks to conduct this experiment and attempt to shrink my body to the sizes girls do today whilsst upholding a 'normal' lifestyle.

I understand this will be difficult and my health is at risk but I intend to resume with my current weight and size once the eight weeks are up.

I think it is important that we understand the immense pressure young people are being put under today so we can stand strong against it and make the first steps towards change.

I was wondering if people could give me tips or tricks that are used today to aid this experiment and to make it successful. Any ideas?

I'm a young person and I can tell you right now, the majority of us eat what we want to eat.

Most of us also are into sports/exercise of some sort, or simply enjoy eating healthy. :/

Plus, we're young. We can eat big macs all day every day sitting on the couch and we'll still be a size 6.

What's more, most girls don't want to be a size 0. They're waiting for some hips and breasts, not to get more stick-like.

Honestly, I don't understand these experiments.

It's probably not what you want to hear, but my advice is do not do it.. You cannot just %26quot;dabble%26quot; in this behaviour to %26quot;see what happens%26quot;

people choose to stop eating because there is ALREADY a psychological problem

Its true that lack of nutrition will effect the mind but you can't use this data to say that %26quot;lack of nutrition causes psychological problems%26quot; because if there were no problems in the first place then this eating behaviour wouldn't start - thus its a manufactured problem if you decide to stop eating simply to understand the effects.

Moreover, its seriously dangerous. you might find that you can't stop. Its like saying you want to take heroin to understand a drug addicts mind..

Limiting your food intake is addictive behaviour, much like taking heroin is. If you dabble in this behaviour then you might develop an addiction.

There was a TV program about 2/3 yrs ago now when a girl decided to experience anorexia.. when she returned to her normal eating she put on quite a bit of weight and ended up %26quot;obsessed%26quot; with food for about 8 months after and she needed counselling .
