Credit stolen or identity stolen?

ok i'm just going to get down to it and be somewhat brutally honest here. So i feel for those people who have had their credit card numbers stolen and charges made to their accounts that they actually did not make. I understand it sucks but with phone calls and some time banks and credit agencies almost always take off the charges and reissue you a new card. I feel for you. Now with that said let me be clear, having your credit card number stolen and your identity stolen are NOT the same thing! Having your identity stolen means you are completely robbed of who you are.... your SS#, birth-date, drivers license, credit.... everything! In my case... as if it all wasn't enough, I was accused of crimes that I didn't commit. Even better, you want to know how I learned that my identity had been stolen.... when federal investigators came to my work! Granted I am one of the lucky ones to have the investigators on my side investigating this, but still it doesn't change the fact that everything I have worked hard for is being compromised or destroyed. It just doesn't seem right that there isn't more that can be done about this.
Credit stolen or identity stolen?
im sorry can u repeat the question in more detail?
Credit stolen or identity stolen?
You can sue the person who stole your identity in civil court and get whatever assets he/she owns for pain and hardship.

Also, talk to your congressman and/or senator in your district and request a change in criminal laws which make the punishment for the identity theft more severe. These criminals hardly spend any jail time for the current crisis in crowded jail space, %26quot;white collar crimes%26quot; such as identity theft are considered minor and the criminals go free with just a slap on their wrist.

this is y no 1 should ever give out personal info. additionally, if ss# is required when filling out online forms, i'd give a fake 1 til u establish contact w/ who u wanna do business.
