How can I become like Chris McCandless? What are some "escape" books I can read to discover my identity?

I am looking for a list of books to read over the summer (going into junior year of high school) while I have the time. Here are some books I am planning to read so far:

1. Call of the Wild-Jack London

2. The Unbearable Lightness of Being-Milan Kundera

3. War and Peace-Tolstoy

4. Conversations with God-Neale Donald Walsch

5. Education of a Wandering Man-Louis L'Amour

6. Doctor Zhivago-Boris Pasternak

What do you think so far? Have any opinions about these/other books? Please just don't give me a laundry list of books. Tell me how they have influenced you/changed your paradigm. Thanks.

Meditations-Marcus Aurelius...i connected to the stoic philosophy a lot...mostly about life, and certain parts of it you cant argue with, i call it my 'bible without the miracle bullshit'

Wow it's so weird that I was just listening to Eddie Vedder's soundtrack to Into the Wild and you posted this. That's crazy.

Anyway, you should definitely read the Beach by Alex Garland, it's fantastic. It kind of changed my life, made me move away from home and I live in another country by myself since I was 17. Sometimes you need to explore to find yourself, albeit within reason.
