Did tyra overdo the whole danielle speech thing?
Hmm... your point about them not changing anyone else's accent is true. I wonder why that happend. I agree with you totally. They shouldn't have commented about that everytime she went up to do something.
But they said that model's need to have accents that other people can understand, other important people. And it is America's: Next Top Model. But I really agree with you and they shouldn't have made it such a big deal.

Yeah I think she overdid it...it's not like Danielle was speaking some other language she just had an accent which I didn't think was fair for them to pick on her for. Everyone speaks different and they went over board every week telling her you have to talk better this that and the next and thats not easy for someone to just change. So I agree with you
I agree. Although she has a strong southern accent, you can still understand everything she says. Nigel Barker said he needed subtitles to understand her which I thought was a bit harsh.
If you are going to be a spokes model for anything, doing advertisements, interviews, it is importantant to be able to speak distinctly and pronunciate well. Many actors and actresses have gone to voice coaches, sometimes to help get rid of their accents (or to develop one) but also to help them be able to speak clearly.
Danielle just needed a little bit of help, but shouldn't have to lose her accent. Sometimes it helps people connect with her and the product more. They were way too harsh, and sometimes they over exagerate certain flaws or idiosyncrasies the models have, but sometimes that what's makes them stand out. Or certain designers may be looking for that quirck. They need to tone it down a bit, but I suppose it makes for good tv.
