Is it possible to change your Social Security #?
It appears that in extreme cases, the Social Security Administration will assign you a new number. It doesn't look like they will give you a new number based on a perceived future threat of identity theft, but perhaps if you are currently experiencing identity theft, they might be able to assist.

Why? What is to say that your new SSN won't become compromised? Plus, your SSN benefits will get all ****** up.
Yes, but like the guy above me says, only in extreme cases. You just can't go and ask for a new number because you %26quot;think%26quot; you are afriad of identity theft. Most of the time people say they are afriad of identity theft because their credit is messed up. In your case, no you will not be able to get a new social security number.
