What would you do if...?

Someone came along %26amp; took you from your home, changed your identity, called you stupid %26amp; ugly, erased your memory of your family %26amp; the glory/success you had %26amp; made everyone else think the same about you? How would you feel? What would you do? What could you do? You would have to start from scratch while everyone else around you continued to move on in his/her established life. Sad, isn't it. This actually did %26amp; still does happen.
What would you do if...?
It does indeed happen more than any of us really know. One thing I'm sure of... we're born with an innate sense of worth and hunger for well-being. Although it may be crushed and mangled and buried for a period of time, it's still there. In the hour of deepest despair and in the %26quot;in between's%26quot; of the torture, tiny glimpses of it try to come to surface. I think it gathers strength until the day when the person can break away, not because he or she can, but because he or she must. That's when %26quot;starting from scratch%26quot; becomes a goal to shoot for, because the alternative is unbearable.
